Business and Commercial Litigation: Represents individuals as well as small, mid-sized, and large businesses in a wide variety of litigation in state and federal courts, including such matters as contract litigation, disputes between partners or shareholders, breach of fiduciary duty claims, disputes regarding the rights and responsibilities of corporate officers and directors, construction litigation and mechanic's liens.
Non-Compete/Non-Solicit Agreements: Represents former employers, departing employees and new employers in issues relating to employee non-compete and non-solicit agreements as well as claims of theft of trade secrets and misappropriation of confidential information. Brings and defends actions for injunctive relief and damages. Counsels employers and employees in the drafting and negotiation of such agreements upon employment.
Real Estate and Title Litigation: Represents residential and commercial property owners in title disputes, boundary disputes, adverse possession claims, easement claims, and in litigating issues relating to contracts to purchase and commercial lease agreements.
Employment Discrimination: Represents municipal and private employers in the defense of employment discrimination claims, including allegations of discrimination based on race, gender, age or disability, as well as claims of sexual harassment in the workplace.
Civil Rights/Municipal Defense: Defends municipalities and public officials who are being sued for alleged violations of constitutional rights.
Karen was born and raised in the Hudson Valley and returned to the area to raise her own family here. She lives in Highland with her husband and two children. In her free time, Karen is an avid cyclist and runner.
